MapGap · free preview · full sheet $9.99 one-time on Whop
Free GBP category checker: see your gap before you pay
MapGap’s preview is free and needs no account. Paste your Google Business Profile categories and up to five competitors’, run it, and you see how many categories you’re missing before you decide whether the $9.99 full sheet is worth it.
How to run the free check
- Open mapgap-web.whop.site. No sign-in is needed for the preview.
- Under Your business, paste your primary category and your additional categories (comma or newline separated). Name and review counts are optional.
- Add up to five competitors and paste the categories you see on their profiles. MapGap doesn’t look anything up for you.
- Click Run free preview. The comparison runs in your browser. The app says nothing is uploaded or stored.
What you see for free
- Missing categories: how many categories your competitors list that you don’t, and how many competitors were compared.
- Used by 2+ competitors: how many of those missing categories appear on two or more competitors.
- A competitor’s primary category: how many missing categories are some competitor’s primary.
- The top 2 missing categories in full, with which competitors use them and whose primary they are.
- The rest as locked rows: the competitor count (for example “3 of 5”) and a primary tag where it applies, but not the category name. Up to 8 locked rows are listed, then “…and N more locked.”
- Your review-velocity target (median competitor reviews, your gap, and a 30-day target; see the formula) and the five reply templates. Both are fully shown in the preview.
When you shouldn’t buy
The preview tells you directly:
- No gaps found. If your list already covers every competitor category you entered, the app says “There is nothing to unlock for this set — no need to buy.”
- Two or fewer missing. If every missing category fits in the free top 2, the app says they’re all shown free and that buying only adds the CSV download for that set.
Before deciding, check spelling. Matching is exact text, ignoring case, so “Plumber” and “Plumbing service” count as different categories. A typo can show up as a fake gap.
What the $9.99 adds
- Every missing category by name, ranked: most competitors first, then categories that are a competitor’s primary, then A–Z.
- A CSV download (
mapgap-missing-categories.csv) with columns category, competitors_using, found_on_competitors, competitor_primary_for. See the CSV page.
It’s a one-time purchase on Whop. After buying, sign in with Whop in the app (“Already bought? Sign in”). The unlock is checked on the server against your purchase.
Hard limits
- Paste-in only. No Google Maps or Places data pull or APIs.
- No listing edits, no auto-replies, and no ranking or map-pack claims. A category competitors use isn’t automatically right for your business.
- Up to five competitors per run.
- Not affiliated with Google.
FAQ
- Do I need an account to run the check?
- No. The preview runs without signing in. You only sign in with Whop after buying, to unlock the full list and CSV.
- Is the review target free too?
- Yes. The review-velocity section and the reply templates show the same way in the preview and the paid version. Only the full missing-category list and the CSV are locked.
- Can I see the locked category names some other way?
- The preview shows only the competitor count for locked rows. You can compare the competitor lists you pasted by hand. MapGap just saves you that work and ranks the results.
